A. Product Description:
Powder metallurgy bearings are made by pressing, sintering, shaping, and immersing metal powders and other anti friction material powders into oil. They have a porous structure, and after being immersed in hot oil, the pores are filled with lubricating oil. During operation, due to the suction effect of the journal rotation and friction heating, the metal and oil are heated and expanded, squeezing the oil out of the pores and lubricating the friction surface. After the bearing cools down, the oil is sucked back into the pores.
Powder metallurgy bearings do not require the addition of lubricating oil for a long period of time. The higher the porosity of powder metallurgy bearings, the more oil they store, but the more pores they have, the lower their strength. These types of bearings are often in a mixed lubrication state and can sometimes form thin film lubrication. They are commonly used in situations where it is difficult to replenish lubricating oil, light loads, and low speeds.

C.Advantages and disadvantages:
Advantage
(1) Compared to rolling bearings, it has lower noise and vibration, simpler products, and can omit processing operations, saving materials and energy..
(2) No special oil supply mechanism is required, and there is no need to add lubricating oil from outside.
(3) Large degree of freedom in shape design, suitable for mass production, and affordable.
Disadvantages
(1) When produced in small quantities, the cost is higher and due to the porous nature of the material, its strength is not as strong as the corresponding casting material.
(2) Before use, its applicability should be thoroughly verified.
